Short description
Hearthwood is a pixel-art homestead survival game. Mend your grandfather's derelict cabin in the northern woods, fill the cellar, and get through your first winter.
Long description
You arrive at a derelict cabin in the northern wilderness in early spring, with a few tools and a deed. Forage, farm, fish, hunt, mine, trade, and above all make things, getting better with every attempt, until the cabin is warm, the cellar is full, and you've survived your first winter.
The cabin grows with you, room by room: a patched roof, chinked walls, a bedroom, a workshop, a root cellar. Down the road, the village of Millbrook has a store, a smithy, an inn and a dozen neighbours with their own stories. Out in the woods are older stories still.
Features
- Four seasons that change what you can do, and a winter that can kill you.
- A cabin to mend and extend room by room.
- Crafting you get better at by doing, and a dozen small hands-on tasks: carving, mending, brewing, forging, the soup pot, fiddle tunes.
- Warmth, hunger, weather and storms that damage the cabin.
- A village with twelve neighbours, their conversations and their errands.
